I'm thinking of switching to WordPress due to the constant hassle of spam on Movable Type.
How easy is it? How easy is it to keep my same site design? How easy will it be to transfer my archive?

With your comment-spam problem, I highly reccomend you download the MT-Blacklist plugin ... that is pretty much the MT standard in comment and pingback managing. It won first place in Six Apart's Plugin Competition... or, to REALLY simplify things, wait a couple of days. Movable Type's new version, 3.1 is scheduled for release on 8/31 and will have Blacklist built into it.
