As Glenn Reynolds pointed out, Mickey Kaus, on his blog, states that

Respectable big-time journalist friends who met with the anti-Kerry vets recently found them a lot more credible than expected. Sorry, Note!

If "respectable big-time journalist[s]" have "recently" met the vets, are there stories in progress that we don't know about?

Put in another way, is the Kerry counterattack actually a counterattack or a pre-emptive attack because he's been tipped off that stories are about to come out from "respectable big-time journalist[s]?"
