Ruminations from inside the vast right wing conspiracy.

Global Test

Kerry claiming that there is a global test that must be met before the President acts will be the most damning thing — replacing his pride in his anti-Vietnam days.

Final Thoughts

The debate was a draw. Kerry was a much better debater with more facts, even if not all true. Bush was more likeable and consistent.

Kerry might have eeked out the most points. But, he didn’t do enough to win decisively and, given his standing in the polls, he got no where.

This debate will not, I think, do much for Kerry and will not shift the polls.

At least we have the theme — John Kerry, the Urban Legends Candidate.

Christy on the Debates

Christy says that Bush does not have to repeat his positions and where he stands because we already know where he stands on the issues. Kerry, on the other hand, has been all over the place.

At Best For Kerry

It was a draw. Kerry came across with a lot of facts and figures, but he was boring and rude. Bush came across as sincere, direct, and honest.

Kerry spent his time with lots of phony facts and flat out lies.

The Urban Legends Candidate

If there is one striking point to come out of tonight’s debate, it is that John Kerry has picked a theme. He could have done better, but in the interests of scaring voters becoming the Urban Legends Candidate will probably work.

Tonight he hit the President on the “pottery barn rule,” denied that there was a “coalition,” claimed that the United States has “paid ninety percent of the costs and suffered ninety percent of the deaths,” gave the bogus line on parents having to buy armor for their kids in Iraq, and a host of other misstatements and lies.

The only thing Kerry did not hype tonight was the statement on the draft that he has been saying, which, by the way, is supported by Democrats – not Republicans – in Congress.

So, at least, on September 30, 2004, John Kerry has picked a theme. He is the Urban Legends Candidate. Up next, Kerry will attack the post office for taxing emails and lash out at Starbucks for attacking troops and denying them coffee.

Thank God

It’s almost over.

Bush Is Getting Tired

He is slowing down on the proliferation issue. He should say terrorism is the number one issue.

The Character Question

Wow, Bush comes across really strong on that. Kerry reminds people how great Laura Bush is. They laugh about the girls.

Bush comes across well here.

Moo-lah

For those in Rio Linda, that is “Mullah” out side of Texas.

Who Knew

The light would blink more for the President than for Kerry.

In 2006, my friend Clayton asked if I wanted to start a horse race style blog of Georgia politics. It evolved into a site that tries to cover the state objectively, without just being a place to mouth off the party line. It's been a fun release to get away from right wing activism and just cover politics as a hobby. Check it out at www.peachpundit.com
