Our Money Is Bigotted
Who knew!? The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has determined that our money is bigotted. The court ruled that the money can’t be distinguished by blind people and therefore must be changed. Don’t expect this ruling to last.
Neither Did This One
This one did not make the cut either for the Christmas card, but one similar to it did.
In fact, we had such a hard time picking a picture between the ones we liked, we wound up going with a Christmas card that allowed us to put in two pictures. Works for me!
And the added bonus, of course, was that Christy and I didn’t have to be in the picture. That made it a lot easier.
Hard to Decide
Well, we had a hard time deciding which picture to use for our family Christmas card this year. Neither Christy nor I really wanted to be in the picture anyway. So, we went with Evelyn. Evelyn, of course, is such a good natured kid that she is really easy to get to take a picture. She smiles as soon as she sees the camera.
This is one of the many shots I just uploaded to Flickr. She has a green Christmas ornament between her hands while sitting in her rocking chair, which was her great grandmother’s rocking chair.
While I like this picture, it did not make the cut for the Christmas card. There were better pictures.
Angels Update
Michaels has lots and lots of pretty Angels — and they are multi-racial to boot!
Angels
I suppose it is the market responding to demand, but I really prefer angels to top my Christmas tree. But all I can find are stars. Sure, there are a couple of angels, but they aren’t all that pretty. We actually have a pretty one, but Sam torn off her wings. It’s time to hunt for a new angel.
Huh?
So your kid wants to build, basically, a pressure chamber and you balk. But hey, a nuclear reactor in the garage? NO problem.
“Originally, he wanted to build a hyperbaric chamber,” she said, adding that she promptly said no. But, when he came asking about the nuclear fusion machine, she relented.
Tomorrow
We get an unlisted phone number. A very nice lady called me tonight, just after 10 pm, to complain about a post I had written at RedState. I had called a congressman a moderate, saying he wasn’t the type of guy you’d consider a conservative.
I’ve met the guy, I know he’s conservative, but I also know he’s in a district where he can’t seem too conservative. I didn’t want to hurt him.
Well, it took a while to calm the lady down and explain why I said what I said. I don’t really mind that she called, but this is becoming more the norm than the exception. Email is one thing, but calling kind of pushes things to a new level.
It’s time for the private line.
Raising Republicans
Things like this only serve the cause of creating a new generation turned against the left.
After 90 years in San Francisco high schools, the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps must go, the San Francisco school board decided Tuesday night. The board voted 4-2 to eliminate the popular program, phasing it out over two years.
Dozens of JROTC cadets at the board meeting burst into tears or covered their faces after the votes were cast.
And let’s remember our new Speaker is from San Francisco.
