MoRons are restless
A good friend sent me this link.
I posted a polite response, pointing out much of the above. Within a day I was blocked from the RedState site, and now I cannot access the web page: my IP address was also blocked. I have since learned that it was Erick Erickson, Editor of RedState, who didn’t like it. Here is another, from http://www.erickerickson.org: “…we call Ron Paul supporters MoRons.”
I think Erick got a little antsy when I pointed out that Ron Paul posed a threat to the CFR/Neocon agenda, had millions of supporters, had done well in straw polls and was a towering internet presence. I also said that the CFR was clearly anxious about Dr. Paul, and all they could do was to stand on the sidelines and call him names, such as “pencil-head” or his supporters “MoRons.”
Hilarious. CFR/Neocon? Wow. That’s as intelligent as me writing KKK/RonPaul agenda.
Well, This Gets Interesting
This post got me a phone call and letter in the mail from a member of City Council who was none too happy with the post.
I stand by the post. Grant, one cannot really read the humor in it, but given the bulk of the posts I write, it should have been taken for granted.
And for that matter, it seems the city is going to need to be forward thinking in revitalizing the area around the mall, which is mostly abandoned by major retail. Add to that the mall in general and you’ve got a real problem with blight.
Perhaps we really need to give incentives to renovate some of the abandoned buildings rather than make it easy to build new ones. And, frankly, can we really blame all the major business development for wanting to move outside the city limits?
I don’t think so.
Taxes, Taxes
After the Presidential election, I think this is already the single subject I am most tired of discussing.
I have to say that while I lean favorably toward any plan to end the property tax as we know it, I won’t say I’m opposed or supporting this plan until the funds distribution formula has been publicly released and studied.
I must have
The iRobot Looj. It’s a robot that cleans your gutters for you.
Add that to my Christmas list.
Backtracking
The other day, engrossed in everything Forest HIll Road, I said that I’d be glad to work against those commissioners who did not vote to stop the project.
Even as I was hitting the “publish” button I was thinking twice about it. I had pretty much decided I needed to take it back about a day later. Then, visiting with Rep. Allen Peake the other day and discussing it further, I have to say I am solid in the opinion that, having been engrossed in the nitty-gritty of the boondoggle that is the Forest Hill Road controversy, I went too far and regret doing so.
I would not and could not seriously consider working against Charlie Bishop, Elmo Richardson, or even Burt Bivins.
I’m not in favor of the redesign as it stands. I think it goes too far. But the more emails I’m involved in, the more I think those who are most adamantly opposed to the redesign aren’t willing to go far enough.
It’s a mess on both sides. But I must retract my hastily written prior statement.
I still think the DOT could scale down the road project further, but frankly, I’m tired of getting stuck going 35 mph on that road and would like to at least go 45 mph with some regularity.
That Cleland Ad
You know, SpaceyG mentioned the Saxby v. Max ad in this post and I’ve got to tell you, that was a fantastic ad and to heck with all the hyperbole from outraged Democrats.
The ad, contrary to what the Democrats in the Senate try to say, did not equate Cleland with Osama. It simply told the truth — Max voted against the President’s homeland security initiatives and tried to hold up DHS legislation because the legislation prevented unionization of Homeland Security employees.
Now I know you Democrats like to believe it did something far worse, in addition to questioning Max’s courage. But you’ve got to know you’re full of crap.
I think the funniest thing is how Democrats get so worked up about the Cleland ad and at the same time thing there was nothing wrong with the NAACP ad attacking George Bush over the James Byrd murder.
Onward to the ChiComs
Delta Air Lines Inc. and United Airlines have won two coveted new air routes to China’s financial and manufacturing capitals and four other new China routes have been proposed for 2009, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters announced Tuesday. Atlanta-based Delta will have a route from Atlanta to Shanghai available for flights in April, said Peters, who made the announcement from Delta’s giant hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Delta’s route to China’s financial hotspot is the first to China by a U.S. airline from the Southeast. Peters also said Chicago-based United would receive a route beginning in 2008 to the Chinese city of Gunagzhou – China’s manufacturing center – from San Francisco because of the U.S. city’s longtime “personal, cultural and business ties to China.”
Delta says it has purchased two new 777s for the trip from ATL to Shanghai. No word on if they’ll be painted with lead paint or employ Christian slave labor from Chinese work camps.
Ron Paul Supporters: Totally Nuts
According to one eyewitness, Giuliani was beset by dozens of Paul enthusiasts as he was leaving the island, some of whom shouted taunts about 9/11, including: “9/11 was an inside job” and “Rudy, Rudy, what did you do with the gold?” — an apparent reference to rumors about $200 million in gold alleged to have disappeared in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. Ed Wyszynski, a longtime party activist from Eagle, said the Paul supporters threatened to throw Giuliani overboard and harrassed him as he took shelter in the ferry’s pilothouse for the 15-minute journey back to Mackinaw City. “It was awful,” said Wyszynski, who supports Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination. “I was embarrassed to be a Republican. Never, ever, have I seen such a disgraceful performance.”
This, by the way, is why we call Ron Paul supporters MoRons.
A note about this site
This may mean I never get another comment, but I cannot and will not have anyone comment on this site who embraces the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a legitimate work.
There is no room in any civil discourse in the modern era for that. The proven forgery has been a source of anti-semitism since the turn of the 20th century and was a source of justification for the Holocaust, the purges of the Soviet Union, and the current Arab atrocities against the Jewish people around the world.
That anyone outside of a Nazi or Arab would dare to give any legitimacy to that work disgusts me beyond measure.
A note to whoever
I appreciate the notes about Forest Hill in my mailbox and would love to discuss them with you. It looks like we might be able to reach some agreement, but considering you left no name or contact information, I presume you don’t really want to discuss anything.
