Ruminations from inside the vast right wing conspiracy.

About Me

Erick Erickson serves as a contributor and conservative political analyst on CNN’s John King, USA.

In addition to serving as a CNN contributor, Erickson is the Editor-in-Chief of RedState.com, a property of Eagle Publishing, Inc.  Under Erickson’s leadership, RedState has become the preeminent right of center community online and is the most widely read right-of-center blog on Capitol Hill.  Prior to leading RedState, Erickson practiced law for six year and managed a number of political campaigns.

According to Newsweek, “Erickson has grabbed his party’s power brokers by their elephant-stitched suspenders. Avid readers include Rush Limbaugh, former senator Fred Thompson and House Minority Leader John Boehner.”

Erickson’s tenure at RedState has been marked by a willingness to speak candidly about and challenge the Republican establishment as well as rally conservatives and tea party activists to push their agenda at both the federal and state level.  Additionally, Erickson has used his position at RedState to help raise the profile of a number of conservative candidates across the country from Doug Hoffman in New York’s 23rd Congressional District to Marco Rubio in Florida to Nikki Haley in South Carolina.

The London Telegraph named Erickson the sixty-fifth most influential conservative in America in 2010.  He is co-author of the upcoming book RedState Uprising to be released in the fall of 2010.

Each weekday morning, Erickson writes his “Morning Briefing” email, widely considered a must read among conservative pundits and activists.  “The ability of [Erickson's Morning Briefing] to shape a message illustrates the power of the conservative network,” the Washington Post reported on February 1, 2010.

Erickson studied political science and history earning his bachelor’s degree at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, also earning his juris doctorate at Mercer’s Walter F. George School of Law.

Erickson and his family reside outside the beltway in Macon, Georgia where he runs RedState.com and is an elected Republican on Macon’s city council.  He can be followed on twitter and Facebook at ewerickson.

  • RedState

RedState is my full time job. It is the largest right of center blogging community on the internet. It's also the most widely read right of center blog on Capitol Hill and most quoted right of center blog in the media. Check it out at www.redstate.com

  • Peach Pundit

In 2006, my friend Clayton asked if I wanted to start a horse race style blog of Georgia politics. It evolved into a site that tries to cover the state objectively, without just being a place to mouth off the party line. It's been a fun release to get away from right wing activism and just cover politics as a hobby. Check it out at www.peachpundit.com

  • Blog Macon

The site you are reading and this site suffer the most from my blog overkill. Blog Macon covers the news in Macon and Bibb County. Check it out at www.blogmacon.com
